The need for doctors on Maui

Aloha!

On behalf of the Maui Rotary Health Committee, I have been working with a small group to improve cancer care here on Maui. One of the members of our group is Julie Hew, the chief physician recruiter for Maui Health Systems. As you know, there is a physician shortage on the island creating access issues in many specialties.

Could you reach out to your clubs, particularly the realtors, to see if they receive inquiries from physicians looking to relocate to Maui. I would be happy to put them in touch with Julie, who can discuss practice opportunities here, the credentiallng process, hospital privileges and other issues that might smooth the way for these folks to relocate here.

Let me know if you might have any leads in this area.

Thanks.
Al Weiland

Earth Day Beach Cleanup - April 22, 2022

We had 22 total volunteers; 13 Rotarians, 3 Interact Club members and 6 non-Rotarian volunteers.
We collected approximately 17 trash bags full - this is not exact because some were using buckets and emptied them multiple times.
